Nanyang Technological University Singapore 2007-till present

Here are the highlights of my research with the emphasize on the last seven years and main creative outcomes, such as stereoscopic/ experimental animation, paintings, art content for immersive 3D stereo displays and art installations, awards and impact.

Festival/theatrical screenings

Experimental 3D animated short films were directed and visually developed for Digital Cinema 3D stereo projection screening venues such as among others state of the art Hollywood Landmark Theatres and the legendary Hollywood Chinese Theatres. Parallel to production of stereoscopic film focus was on how to create creative art content for one-of-a-kind visualization environments, such as the following venues:

  • Media Art Nexus NTU Singapore exhibition space, large scale 15m by 2m LED Urban media screen, is one of the NTU Art and Heritage Museum’s various Art on Campus initiatives – an initiative which started in 2014 with the aim of “bringing art to people”. The series of public art installations are part of NTU Museum Art Trail on Campus featuring a collection that is unique in Singapore. Many of which were created by NTU Community as well as invitations to local and international art.
  • Ars Electronica Centre, (Linz Austria Europe), prestigious stereo venue 8k Deep Space. Works were showcased in Deep Space as a part of the most reputable festival of digital arts in the world- AE Festival Origin in 2011, Festival Total Recall in 2013,  [1] Festival 2016, “RADICAL ATOMS and the alchemists of our time”
  • 320° curved cylindrical panorama of the IMI Immersive Room at the NTU Institute for Media Innovation, Singapore (2011 and 2013/14)
  • The Cube QUT Brisbane For the Web 3D Art Gallery exhibition in Brisbane, the works were on display within The Cube QUT. The Cube QUT is one of the world’s largest digital interactive learning and display spaces dedicated to providing an inspiring, explorative and participatory experience of QUT’s Science and Engineering research. The Cube consists of 48 multi-touch screens soaring across two levels. Housed in QUT’s Science and Engineering Centre, The Cube is your hub for scientific and digital exploration. Collaborating with QUT researchers and drawing on knowledge and data from research areas in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) [1]
  •  The works were composited with the rest of the art works within the the large immersive 360 cylindrical sphere of EPICentre. EPICentre currently host the highest resolution cylinder in the world with 120 million pixels in 3D. UNSW’s EPICentre makes decades of accumulated historic and massive volumes of new data that is being generated more usable. Cutting-edge computing, 3-D immersive and screen-based technologies render this data visible and enable scientists to get inside and be immersed in some of the most challenging and complex medical and health problems. The most advanced facility of its kind, UNSW’s Expanded Perception and Visualisation Interaction Centre is the next generation in medical imaging technology. This groundbreaking new multidisciplinary Centre brings together integrated design thinking to enable scientists to see their research in real time and three dimensions
